B@1 in Soho

Chapter Two of the voyage discovery of BeAtOne cocktail

So, round two of exploring the unique and lively Be at One bars around London, bringing you the best and greatest atmosphere, and this time we headed to London’s central; Soho. Sitting upon Great Windmill Street just around the corner from Piccadilly Circus B@1 has again provided me with an enjoyable night during its Happy Hour.

Again, you really won’t find a friendly place; it’s like I’m visiting a good friend, made to feel welcome and encouraged to enjoy myself. The music pumping, the atmosphere exciting. Walking into the bar the staff greet you like an old friend, and hand to the ‘Little Blue Book of Cocktails’, which I am endeavouring to work my way through.
the classic Zombie

My friend and I tried three cocktails during Be At One Soho’s Happy Hour, two of the same cocktails for the price of one on Monday and Tuesday between 4:30 till 8pm, Wednesday to Saturday 4:30 till 7pm and All Night on Sunday.  I can therefore urge you to try the Brazilian Monk, the nutty, creamy and coffee Ice Cream cocktail, the fruity rum classic Zombie cocktail and last a wonderful creamy Screaming Orgasm thanks to the barmaid who recommended it to us and the barman who made it all happen.

I just love Be At One, and if you are ever in London I would strongly suggest visiting for a brilliant evening. Chatting to the barmaid we decided it would take about 3-4 months to drink all the cocktails in the ‘Little Blue Book’, which I at least attempt even if it will take my all summer or all year. It will be the most enjoyable quest I have ever taken.

Wildwood Restaurant, Covent Garden.

A superb European restaurant at a most reasonable price for a luxurious meal.

This elegant European beauty, sitting upon Bow Street, was a delightful treat after meandering the streets of Covent Garden for it since my friend recommended we try this place she remembered a year ago. Not only did the warmth of Wildwood Restaurant greet me as we entered from the cold, rainy weather, but also the pleasant, beautiful décor and friendly hospitality of its waitresses.

After being seated at a comfortable table, candlelit and a bottle of olive oil setting the scene of a rustic and homely European meal at an extravagant grandma, we selected a glass of Merlot to warm ourselves up. The place had a brilliant buzz with everyone enjoying themselves. Fighting between the Seaford Risotto and the Smoked Haddock Risotto I decided the latter Risotto, that blended smoked haddock, cheddar cheese, peas, a poached egg and spinach which sounded creamy and rich; it most certainly was. The texture was cooked to utter excellence, velvety and flavoursome with the smoky haddock. And to top it all off the definition of perfection resided in the poached egg with a yoke that oozed as soon as I drove my fork into it, adding to the smoothness of the dish.

After being checked upon by the waitresses who made sure we were comfortable and enjoying our meal we moved onto dessert and the White Chocolate Cheesecake jumped out to me and seeing as I am a huge chocolate lover of course I knew this dessert was for me, and I have never experience anything like this delightful dessert. I can still taste the smoothness of the white chocolate upon the crunch of the dark chocolate biscuit base. So simple, but packed with so much guilty goodness.

Wildwood will definitely see me again after the wonderful time I spent there; especially with a 20% off your next meal when you dine at Wildwood at lunch. With my meal (including the coffee we ordered to end) came to £24, which I thought a brilliant price for a most splendid meal. With loads of restaurants around London, Essex, as well as one in Kent and Leicester I hope there is one close to you for a lovely evening out.

B@1; the gift of east London.

Spitalfields has a little treasure of a gift rocking the streets of London’s East-End. Lively and uplifting, Be@1 is one of many cocktail bars animating London with its electric/rock classic tunes and friendly bartenders
who know there drinks and love creating as much fun as possible. I assure you you won’t find a more welcoming and unique bar in London.

A friend of mine told me I would love B@1 after having experienced it one Sunday and told me that I had to try their ice cream cocktails; she knows me too well. I’ve never experienced anything like it, it was like an exclusive party that everyone was invited to for a good fun time; I felt so at home there. We walked into the quaint bar situated on Brushfield Street off of Bishopgate Road, round the corner from Liverpool Street Station, where we received a most entertaining welcome for the bartenders, who you could just tell loved being there. Having browsed the wide selection of cocktails, including all the classics but also the huge variety of distinctive cocktails from those ice cream cocktails to B@1’s own, I first ordered the Kahlua Banana, with the smooth coffee flavour of Kahlua, fresh banana and ice cream. And of course, B@1 has a Happy Hour with 2 of the same cocktail for the price of 1 from 5pm to 7pm Monday to Saturday and 6pm to midnight on Sunday;  what a happy 2hours I had.

The atmosphere was amazing, the place buzzing and meeting the bartenders who not only love to chat, but also love to dance and sing along to the raging music, for themselves and for the entertainment of the crowd. Chatting and getting to know one of the bartenders called Greg, who charmingly offered us a free shot if we liked their page on Facebook (which my friends and I of course accepted!) made the whole experience at B@1 incredible. As recommended by both my friend and the bartenders come along to B@1 on Sunday for even more energy, as the bar parties harder and wilder. If their weekdays are a taster for their Sunday I am sure getting myself down there for B@1 is the place you do not want to miss out on, whether it’s after the day at the office or just an outing with friends.
